This simple trick will give you confidence to wear this look- because denim is so much more than jeans these days.  We have denim jackets, skirts, chambray shirts and overalls.  You can wear two pieces of denim with this easy rule:

The trick to wearing denim with denim is to pair two different colors of denim.

You can wear very similar shades, but they must be different.

You can really personalize this look by choosing denim that fits your style- no matter if you prefer crisp dark denims, frayed and vintage, medium and classic- comfy and casual or structured and dressy, you can work this look.

The fashion brave are wearing a three-piece denim dressing trend, via Topshop:

They advise choosing boxy shapes, cropped jeans, frayed hems and denim accessories.

I find it is a really easy outfit to wear a chambray shirt and jeans, and I wear it often.  I really love the look of frayed cutoffs and a denim shirt with lace-up sandals for summer.

Do you wear a denim tuxedo, or are you ready to try it?

How to look chic wearing flats!

French women are known for their style, and you can use this little styling trick to add a little French chic to your current wardrobe!

When dressing up to go out, most women choose their highest heels.  I think for many  women their heels are their most stylish shoes, but most have some simple flats in their closets too.  With this trick you can look chic wearing your flats for running errands or dressy occasions too!

French women wear flats for dressy occasions and for everyday.   The French trick to wearing flats for going out is to wear them with skirts above your knees.

Not all of these skirt lengths will work for everyone, and your skirt doesn’t have to be alarmingly short to wear this style.  Just enough leg so your knees are showing is all you need to wear this look.  In the wintertime, tights work great too!

There are so many famously chic women who often wear this look.  Taylor Swift, Olivia Palermo, and Alexa Chung are often seen in flats and shorter hemlines.

The wearing flats trick is also true in reverse.  It is hard to pull off a midi length skirt with flats unless you have a lot of height, but it can be done!  Midi skirts with flats can look a little mature and matronly unless they are worn just right.

The trick to wearing flats with midi skirts is a tucked in blouse or top.

Here are some chic examples:

The reverse of the French trick of flat shoes is the rule of heels. Any skirt hemline that falls below the knee looks best with a heel.

You are always safe wearing heels with your midi length skirts.   Like you saw in the images above of women rocking midis with flats, these aren’t hard and fast rules.  If you’re new to styling flats or midi skirts they are good guidelines to be aware of.

Here are some midi length skirts with heels for inspo:

Long maxi dresses and skirts always look great with flats too.

If height isn’t on your side, remember you can always substitute wedges or kitten heels for flats.  Kitten heels are by far a more fashionable choice unless you’re wearing a sundress or a summery look.  Here are some ideas for you:

A good guideline is:  less skirt-less heel.  Choose a shorter heel with your shorter hemlines.  Unless you’re in Vegas, then absolutely choose less skirt-more heel, haha!

I hope you have found some new styling inspiration to keep your feet comfortable and you feeling your best!
